Understanding your surfboard's dimensions
We cut and sew every canvas cover to your exact surfboard length — that's the easy part. The only question is width. Your surfboard's widest point needs to fit inside the cover's maximum.
Check the underside, near the tail
Most shapers print the dimensions on the bottom of the surfboard, just up from the fins along the stringer. Snap a photo and keep it handy.

Know your three numbers
Every board has its dimensions printed on the underside near the fins. You need all three.
Length
Nose to tail, e.g. 6'0". Easy — we make every cover to your exact length.
Width
Across the widest point, e.g. 21". This decides which cover style you need.
Thickness
Through the middle, e.g. 2½". A thicker board needs more room inside the cover.

Hat sizing is simpler than boards — you need just one measurement. Your head circumference puts you in the right size for every bucket hat and surf cap in the range.
How to measure
Head circumference
The distance around your head just above your ears and eyebrows, measured in centimetres. This is the only number you need.
Grab a soft tape (or a piece of string to measure against a ruler).
Wrap it around your head just above your ears and eyebrows, level and snug — not tight.
Read in centimetres. Between sizes? Size up — the adjustable chin cord takes up any slack.

Kids hats
We make a small kids range with the same float-and-stay-on build. Kids hats don't follow the adult size chart — browse the range and filter by Kids, or ask us if you're not sure what fits your grom.

Head circumference — measured just above your ears — is the only number you need. It puts you in the right size for every bucket hat and surf cap in the range. No complicated charts, no guessing.
Between sizes? Always size up. Every hat has an adjustable chin cord and toggle that snugs down a half-size of extra room. A roomy hat that stays on beats a tight one any day.
Tees & hoodies.
Our organic cotton tees and hoodies are a classic, true-to-size fit. Prefer a roomier feel? Size up. Measurements are body measurements in centimetres — not the garment laid flat.

Sizing FAQ
I'm between two cover sizes — which do I pick?
Always size up. A slightly larger cover cinches down snug; one that's too short won't fit at all. Width and thickness matter too — wide fish and thick logs should size up.
Will a shortboard cover fit my fish?
Often, but fish can be surprisingly wide for their length. Check the width against the cover — when in doubt, use the calculator above or send us your dims.
What does the Easy Wing closure do for length?
It adds a few inches of tolerance. A 6'3" bag comfortably takes a 6'5" board — the rolling tail closes neatly over any extra length. Width is fixed per style, though.
Do your hats really stay on in the surf?
That's the whole point. The adjustable drawcord and chin strap keep them locked on — no fly offs, no flop, just reliable sun protection in the water.
